Vitra - Wooden Doll - No 8

Description

The numerous models of Alexander Girard's Wooden Dolls family are hand-painted, lovingly, one by one. Girard created them in 1953 as decorative objects for his house in Santa Fe. And although the differences between them are minimal, each figure is an exclusive and individual product, unique in its class. The Wooden Dolls by Alexander Girard are a large family of wooden figures representing human and animal characters. Girard created them in 1953 as decorative objects for his house in Santa Fe. These originals, which are part of the Girard collection belonging to the funds of the Vitra Design Museum, served as a model for current reissues. Replicated with precision to the last detail, the Wooden Dolls are still made and painted by hand, exactly like the old pieces by Alexander Girard.
